A Time for Love – a poem by Nancy Fijan
Since my last post, life continues to happen – the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ve spent this past month grieving, healing, and feeling – and am grateful for all the love and support of the many special lights in my life. This piece is about letting go and is inspired by a passionate love affair.
A Time for Love
O, she let go the rusty pendulum,
oscillating to the beat of her heart –
Composing passionate seconds beyond
a sycophant’s woeful, sad addiction.
Sweet, sweet crescendo of her sonata,
delicate fingers strumming his lost soul –
Indelible lightness, throes of one love,
for a million harmonious minutes.
Warming with fever, notes filling her mind,
hours of deep, sound desire…legato –
Leaving before this bar of music ends,
futile, enchanting strings calling her back.
Do the right thing and go to her, she said
to the boy, helping him become a man –
Eternal libidinous interlude
forever adorns her…a time for love.
